Financial Accountant – Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide

The Catholic Archdiocese of Adelaide covers 105,000 sq. km taking in the city of Adelaide and outer metropolitan areas, Yorke Peninsula, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Coorong, South East and Limestone Coast.

The Archdiocese of Adelaide comprises 66 parishes and communities and 101  Catholic schools with approximately 46,000 students.

The  Financial Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements and will assist with external compliance for all entities across the organisation including liaising with external auditors as required.

The successful candidate will also have an important role in monthly financial reporting, preparation of the annual budget and supporting management & staff in achieving budget targets.

In addition the Financial Accountant will be charged with identifying process improvements to systems & procedures including where the ERP systems can be utilised to enhance & automate reporting.

Recent relevant experience in a role requiring a sound knowledge & application of accounting standards is essential. Candidates with an audit background wanting to make their first move from an audit firm will also find this role an attractive proposition.

Membership of CPA or Chartered Accountants Aust/NZ is highly preferred.
